Why such a big commission?

Contextualize and PreSell

These are the most crucial things that will make a huge difference in the money you make. Yet, most webmasters will dismiss them. No wonder they're not making money!

Quick explanation: Just think about it, what do most webmasters do? They throw a bunch of links here and there and then expect the money to start flowing. Here are two ideas that you will want to consider:

A. Contextualize

When you promote an affiliate program you should try to relate it to the contents of your website. Too often, I see affiliate links on pages that have absolutely nothing to do with their offer. Pages about marriage and weddings advertising "Web Hosting - 5Gb space, PHP, MySQL, cPanel". Heck, I even saw the other day a site about Egyptian mythology promoting an ebook about how to make money on eBay! It's insane!

Bottom Line: Relate the product to your contents. Since my eBook deals with doing well in school, put it on any page or site that has to do with college/university life, admissions, study skills, scholarships, exchange programs, term papers and essays...or young people in general...there are so many possibilities!

B. Presell

To "presell" basically means to introduce your visitors to the product you are promoting. Don't simply throw the link there like all the rookies do and then expect everybody to rush to click on it. How should they know where the link takes them if you don't mention it? You can presell by:

• Creating anticipation ("By the time you finish reading this book, you are guaranteed know what to do to get better grades by working less - or your money back. ")

Bottom line: When you add the link to your website, spend at least 30 seconds more and add a sentence that describes it. The payoff will be huge.
